Cooling Center Details:
Location: Culpeper Human Services @ 1835 Industry Drive
Culpeper Career Resource Center / Sam’s Place @ 219 E. Davis St.
Hours of Operation: 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday-Friday
Open: Friday, July 25, 2025, and ongoing through the duration of the forecasted extreme heat.
Water and seating will be available. Please share this information with anyone who may be vulnerable during this period of high temperatures, including older adults, individuals with health conditions, or those without air conditioning.
We encourage everyone to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activities during peak heat hours, and check on neighbors or loved ones who may need assistance.

You can apply for SNAP/TANF/Medicaid/Energy Assistance/Child Care Assistance by calling 1-855-635-4370 or by going to www.commonhelp.virginia.gov
Applications may be obtained at our office, online, or by mail.
Please file an application the same day that you contact the agency. Applications may be returned to Culpeper Human Services either in person, through an authorized representative, facsimile, mail, or by completing an online application. Applications may also be filed through the Department of Social Services Call Center at (833-522-5582). The date of the application will be the protected date for when benefits are to begin upon approval.
Separate rules exist for SNAP (formerly known as the Food Stamp Program) and other programs, so please apply even if other programs have limitations on the receipt of benefits.
